Made by our friends at Kaneju Farm and their partner farms in Makinohara, Shizuoka, an area renowned for producing exceptional Japanese tea.

For over 135 years, the Kaneju family has passed its tea-growing knowledge and traditions from one generation to the next. Carefully selected first-flush spring leaves are processed shortly after harvesting at the farm’s own facility, preserving the matcha’s vibrant green colour, smooth texture, natural sweetness and rich umami flavour.

Our friends at Kaneju Farm told us they wanted their matcha to be enjoyed by everyday people, not treated as an inaccessible luxury because of increasingly high prices. We share that belief. To honour their wishes, World in a Box has intentionally chosen a fair and accessible price, allowing more people to experience authentic matcha while ensuring the farmers behind it are properly supported.

We import this matcha directly from the farmers in Makinohara, Shizuoka, to our storehouse in the Netherlands before delivering it to your door. This shorter, more personal supply chain allows you to experience authentic Japanese matcha while supporting the people who produce it.
